Quezon City residents receive financial aid from local gov’t through PayMaya

Residents of Quezon City are now receiving financial assistance directly to their PayMaya accounts as part of the local government’s “Kalingang QC” social amelioration program which aims to help individuals and families in need to cope with the COVID-19 crisis.

Qualified citizen beneficiaries who registered through the QC E-Services portal were able to receive their P2,000 in financial aid straight to their PayMaya accounts in keeping with current health and safety measures to prevent the further spread of the virus causing the COVID-19 disease.

Beneficiaries under the Kalingang QC program include senior citizens, drivers of tricycles, pedicabs, jeepneys, taxis, AUVs, and TNVS; Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, nursing mothers, owners of market stalls that were closed down; and street vendors, among others.

By using digital means to distribute the aid via PayMaya, the Quezon City government has made it safe and convenient for citizen beneficiaries to receive the funds at the comfort of their homes. Cashing out the funds the beneficiaries have received in their PayMaya accounts is also more convenient as the beneficiaries can simply go to any one of the over 30,000 Smart Padala agents near them.

On top of Quezon City, PayMaya has helped in the disbursement f financial aid to citizen beneficiaries of Manila, Mandaluyong, Caloocan, and Pasig City, among others.
