REX Education’s partnership with PowerSchool, a cloud-based student information system (SIS), hopes to reshape the Philippine education sector by introducing advanced technologies to schools. The collaboration provides tools designed to enhance teaching, foster inclusivity, and equip educators and students for a digital-first environment.
“Our partnership with PowerSchool allows us to provide educators with advanced tools to improve instruction and create more personalized learning pathways for students,” said Danda Buhain, chief external affairs officer of REX Learning. “This aligns with our mission to modernize education and support a data-informed approach to teaching.”
At the core of this partnership is PowerSchool’s Schoology Learning platform. The system helps streamline teaching processes and boost student engagement while offering real-time data to inform teaching strategies. This is especially valuable for blended learning models, which became essential during the pandemic.
“The platform has helped educators adapt their instructional strategies while addressing students’ individual needs,” Buhain said. “This ensures that every learner is supported effectively, regardless of their learning pace or style.”
PowerSchool’s AI assistant
Another significant feature of the partnership is PowerBuddy, PowerSchool’s AI assistant, which aids in personalizing education. By analyzing educational data, PowerBuddy provides insights that empower educators to make informed decisions and deliver tailored support.
“PowerBuddy enables teachers to identify strengths and areas for improvement for each student,” Buhain said. “This level of personalization enhances academic performance and overall student well-being.”
The collaboration also emphasizes professional growth and knowledge-sharing through events like the Innovation in Education Summit. These initiatives foster dialogue among education leaders, highlight successful case studies, and encourage the adoption of global best practices.
“Cultural exchange is a vital component of this partnership,” Buhain said. “It allows our educators to learn from their international counterparts, enriching local teaching methods and benefiting students.”
Challenges such as varying levels of digital literacy and infrastructure limitations have accompanied the integration of these technologies. However, REX Education has addressed these issues through training programs and ongoing support, ensuring that educators are equipped to use the tools effectively.
The partnership’s focus on inclusivity ensures that all learners, regardless of background or ability, have access to quality education.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment to innovation and to building a more equitable education system,” Buhain said.
