Salesforce integrates Agentforce Sales with ChatGPT

Salesforce has integrated its Agentforce Sales tool with ChatGPT, allowing sales teams to access customer data, review deals, and complete tasks directly within the ChatGPT interface. It aims to reduce the need to switch between multiple applications during daily sales work.

The company introduced the Agentforce Sales app for ChatGPT at Dreamforce. The app connects Salesforce’s customer relationship management, or CRM, system with ChatGPT, enabling sellers to ask questions, review leads, and update records through a conversational interface instead of navigating several tools.

Sales teams often move between platforms for research, CRM updates, email, and scheduling. This repeated switching can slow work and interrupt focus. By linking Salesforce data with ChatGPT, the CRM company is aiming to make common sales tasks easier to complete in one place.

“With the Agentforce Sales app in ChatGPT, we’re bringing Salesforce into the tools sellers already use,” said Kris Billmaier, GM and EVP of Agentforce Sales at Salesforce. “Now conversations with the Agentforce Sales app in ChatGPT understand your customers, move deals forward, and get real sales work done.”

The Agentforce Sales app allows ChatGPT to use business specific CRM data such as pipelines, account history, and deal status, based on the user’s existing access rights. This means responses are based on a company’s actual sales data rather than general information.

Instead of copying and pasting details into an AI tool, sellers can ask direct questions like viewing new or uncontacted leads. The app pulls live data from Salesforce and shows it inside ChatGPT, reducing manual steps and repeated searches.

The app can also help sellers decide which leads to focus on. When asked to identify a priority lead, it considers internal data such as pipeline health and combines it with external context, including market or news signals, to guide next actions.

In addition to providing information, the app can complete tasks. Sellers can assign leads, update opportunity stages, or request account plans using simple chat commands. These changes are then saved directly in Salesforce.

Salesforce said customer data is handled through its Agentforce Trust Layer and follows existing Salesforce security and permission standards. The integration is part of Salesforce’s broader effort to place its tools in platforms where customers already work, including ChatGPT.
