Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9 to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, bringing new artificial intelligence, camera, translation, security, and device-support features to more users.
The software update previously debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8. Its expansion to the Galaxy S26 series marks the start of a wider rollout, although Samsung has not yet provided a complete list of eligible devices or a schedule for each market.
One of the main additions is My FanCam, which automatically follows a selected person in a recorded video and keeps that person in the center of the frame. The tool can help users prepare videos of performances, sporting events, and other moving subjects for social media without having to manually adjust every shot.
Samsung has also added Generative and Editable Cards to Now Brief. Users can choose which health, weather, and video information appears in their daily summaries.
Now Nudge, another AI-powered feature, offers suggestions based on what a user is doing. During a text conversation, for example, it can bring up reservation details or save a location shared in the chat without requiring the user to switch apps.
Creative Studio can suggest images to create based on upcoming events, such as a friend’s birthday. Interpreter now includes a Thread View that keeps earlier parts of a translated conversation visible. Samsung also said translation in Conversation Mode is faster, while compatible Galaxy Buds can play translated speech with less delay.
Other productivity updates include Document Scan, which can handle curved book pages and papers with folded corners. Voice Recorder can also organize summaries using headings and tables, making long recordings easier to review.
One UI 9 places warranty and repair tools inside the Settings menu. Users can check the warranty status of connected mobile devices, run diagnostic tests, view repair estimates, manage Samsung Care+, and book service appointments.
Samsung is also adding Security Brief, which puts warnings about malware, apps installed from unknown sources, and unnecessary permissions in Now Brief. Privacy Alerts uses AI running on the device to detect potentially unnecessary attempts by apps to access information in the background.
Scam Detection is expanding to more countries and languages, although availability will depend on the device, market, language, and software version. The feature is designed to warn Galaxy users about calls that may be linked to scams.
