Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (Samsung) unveiled Auto Blocker, a new security tool catering to Samsung Galaxy users, reinforcing device protection tailored to individual lifestyles. This addition to Samsung Galaxy’s security suite, launched within One UI 6, offers a customizable package of security measures, expanding user choice within the Galaxy ecosystem.
“At Samsung we constantly strive to keep our users safe from security attacks, and with the introduction of Auto Blocker users can continue to enjoy the benefits of our open ecosystem, knowing that their mobile experience is secured,” said Dr. Seungwon Shin, EVP and head of Security Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics.
Among its features, Auto Blocker prevents unauthorized app installations through sideloading, a practice beneficial for customization but potentially risky. While default settings maintain a seamless experience for deliberate sideloaders, enabling Auto Blocker enhances security for those less inclined towards customization, safeguarding against social engineering threats like voice phishing.

Beyond sideloading prevention, Auto Blocker includes app security checks to detect potential malware and blocks risky commands or software installations via USB cable, offering defense against physical device access scenarios, such as charging devices in public spaces.
An update to Message Guard combats Zero Click attacks across popular third-party apps, expanding protection beyond Google and Samsung messaging platforms, granting users more flexibility in their app choices.
Auto Blocker fortifies Samsung’s commitment to user-centric security, combining robust security standards with user-controlled preferences. As the latest addition to Samsung’s suite of security and privacy innovations, Auto Blocker refines the mobile experience for Galaxy users within the Galaxy ecosystem.
Available now on compatible Samsung Galaxy devices with One UI 6, Auto Blocker stands as a pivotal feature, amplifying user security while preserving individualized device usage.
