Samsung Electronics has introduced the Galaxy Z Fold7, a foldable smartphone that combines Galaxy design, camera features, and AI capabilities in what the company calls its thinnest and lightest foldable yet.
Weighing 215 grams, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is even lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. When folded, it measures 8.9 millimeters thick, and just 4.2 millimeters when unfolded. Samsung said the design makes the phone easier to use for typing, browsing, and multitasking.
When unfolded, Galaxy Z Fold7 becomes more than just a smartphone. It transforms into another device entirely and reveals an expansive screen that expands the workspace for editing, multitasking, and immersive viewing.
The main display is 11% larger than the previous model, allowing more space for editing and using multiple apps at once.
Samsung said it has made the phone more durable, adding a restructured hinge, stronger frame materials, and improved glass technology. From repeated folding to being tossed in a bag, it’s engineered for everyday durability and built to last longer.
The phone features an Armor FlexHinge with a thinner, lighter build, strengthened by a multi-rail design. The cover screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, while the frame uses advanced Armor Aluminum, which is 10% stronger. The main display uses a titanium plate and thicker Ultra-Thin Glass for added toughness.
Inside, the Galaxy Z Fold7 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, which delivers higher AI processing power compared to the previous model. Samsung said the chip boosts NPU performance by 41%, CPU by 38%, and GPU by 26%.

For cameras, it introduces the first 200MP wide-angle camera in the Z series, which captures more detail and produces brighter images. The main display includes a 10MP camera with a wider 100-degree field of view, designed for group selfies and wider shots. Samsung’s ProVisual Engine improves photo and video quality, while Night Video and 10-bit HDR enhance videos in low light with richer colors and contrast.
Pre-orders open July 9, and the device will go on sale Aug. 1. It will come in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jetblack, and Mint (online exclusive).
