Samsung unveils Galaxy Z Fold8

Galaxy Z Fold8

Samsung Electronics has introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8 as part of its latest foldable smartphone lineup, featuring a redesigned display format, updated camera system, and artificial intelligence features designed for multitasking and media consumption. The phone was unveiled alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 weighs 201 grams, making it Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold model. It features a 7.6-inch main display and a 5.5-inch cover screen with display ratios intended to support different viewing activities, including reading, video streaming, gaming, and web browsing. Samsung said the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy and a 4,800mAh battery.

Samsung also introduced its Flex Titanium display structure across the new Galaxy Z series. According to the company, the design combines a titanium-alloy film and reinforced titanium plate to improve display support, reduce crease visibility over time, and refine hinge movement during opening and closing. The Fold8 display also supports up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness and includes Vision Booster technology for outdoor viewing.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 uses dual 50-megapixel rear cameras for wide and ultra-wide photography. Camera software includes Dual Recording, allowing simultaneous recording from both sides of the device, and My FanCam, which automatically tracks a selected subject and reframes video into a chosen aspect ratio. Samsung also integrated Galaxy AI features that support multitasking, content organization, and productivity across the larger foldable display. Security functions include Samsung Knox, Knox Vault, and privacy controls for AI-powered services.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 is available for pre-order in the Philippines beginning July 22 in Graphite, Cream, and Lavender. A Pistachio color variant is available exclusively through Samsung’s online store.
