SendWave and GCash have strengthened their global partnership to make it easier for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to send money to their families in the Philippines. The partnership, expanded in 2025, introduces new features and broader international coverage to support the financial needs of Filipinos abroad.
Through this collaboration, Filipinos overseas can now use SendWave to remit money directly to a GCash mobile number in the Philippines. The service supports transfers to Philippine numbers (+63) and now allows OFWs with US, UK, or Canadian mobile numbers to cash in to their own GCash Overseas accounts.
“This partnership between SendWave and GCash gives OFWs the ability to send fast, secure, and hassle-free remittances to their families in the Philippines,” said Paul Albano, general manager, GCash International. “It strengthens connections between Filipinos abroad and their loved ones, ensuring their financial needs are met efficiently.”
SendWave operates in several countries with large Filipino communities, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, and Germany.
In the Philippines, GCash users can receive remittances and access funds through more than 339,000 cash-in and cash-out outlets. The app also offers services such as savings accounts, investment products, and money management tools within a single platform.
The expanded partnership aims to support the everyday financial needs of OFWs and their families by making digital transactions more convenient and accessible.
