Sharp Corp. recently unveiled a host of technologies designed to revolutionize industries. At its signature Sharp Tech Day in Tokyo, attended by local and international government representatives, business partners, and media, the company showcased its vision for the future and unveiled innovations in artificial intelligence (AI), electric vehicles (EV) Solutions, green energy, next communication, semiconductor, and robotics.

Under the theme “Less Is More,” Sharp displayed Smart Living Solutions driven by AI and nature technology, aiming to enrich modern households with enhanced convenience and comfort. For smart cities, the focus was on safety, featuring a local 5G disaster relief solution and AI driving assistance for improved urban safety.
In terms of enhancing efficiency, the smart industry exhibit highlighted innovations such as smarter office solutions using XR and robotics, and smart manufacturing powered by AI and sensing technology, revolutionizing manufacturing and bioengineering.
The commitment to sustainability was evident in Sharp’s advancements in green energy and green digital communication. From solar developments applicable to homes, businesses, electric vehicles, and outer space to a zero-power-consumption electronic paper display, the company showcased a range of eco-friendly solutions.
Generative AI
Beyond innovation showcases, the company emphasized collaboration by releasing edge AI technology specifications and engaging with startups for generative AI development. Collaborative efforts were evident through partnerships like Foxconn’s display of electric vehicles and automotive semiconductors.
The event also hosted a hackathon aimed at redefining the value of televisions in the future, encouraging diverse participants to develop software prototypes. The winning team, which won a cash prize of 1 million yen, proposed an “AI assistant standing close by the family” and received recognition and potential support for prototype development from Sharp.
Sharp Tech Day was aimed to inspire conversations on adoption and foster new partnerships, believing that the knowledge shared during the event would ignite innovation discussions worldwide.
