PLDT wireless subsidiary Smart Communications Inc. (Smart) has enabled the seamless transition from physical SIM cards to eSIM technology to its subscribers while keeping their number.
The eSIM, or embedded SIM, offers mobile users a digital alternative to traditional physical SIM cards, simplifying the process of activating, managing, and securing mobile services. Smart Prepaid subscribers can now upgrade to an eSIM for a fee of P99 at any Smart Store, presenting only their physical SIM and a valid government ID.
Non-Smart subscribers looking to make the switch can do so for free by obtaining a Unique Subscriber Code from their current network provider and submitting the necessary documents at a Smart Store.
