Smart Travē has reduced travel eSIM data prices for Filipinos heading abroad during the holiday season, with its 3GB package now costing $5.75 from $10. The reduction is equivalent to 42.5%, or about 43%, based on the prices provided by Smart.
The 10GB package now costs $12, down from $20, a 40% reduction. A 1GB package is also available for $3. Smart’s travel connectivity app covers more than 100 destinations worldwide and offers access to Smart’s local customer support hotline for users who need assistance abroad.
“Smart’s commitment goes beyond keeping Filipinos connected wherever they are in the Philippines. With Smart Travē, we are extending that same commitment to customers as they travel abroad, giving them access to connectivity across more than 100 destinations,” said Lloyd Manaloto, first vice president and OIC for Smart.
The lower prices give travelers more affordable mobile data for maps, ride bookings, messaging, and checking flight or transportation updates. Travelers can also use their data to access hotel reservations, digital boarding passes, translation tools, and other information needed during a trip.
Smart Travē uses an eSIM, a digital SIM that users activate on a compatible device. Travelers choose their destination, select a data package, buy it through the app, and activate the eSIM. This removes the need to find and buy a physical SIM card after arriving overseas.
For Smart, the holiday offers extend its travel connectivity service to Filipinos who need mobile data outside the Philippines. The company highlights access to its support hotline as a feature of the service.
Smart Travē is available through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The material did not specify when the discounted rates end or the validity periods of the listed data packages. Users need an eSIM-compatible device to activate the service for their trip.
