Smart Communications, a mobile network provider in the Philippines, delivered high-speed connectivity to subscribers attending the Korean boy group Stray Kids concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan last Saturday. Fans enjoyed seamless online access during the event, thanks to Smart’s 5G network, which recorded the fastest speeds inside the venue.
According to Ookla Speedtest data taken at 8:50 p.m. on Nov. 23, Smart 5G achieved download speeds of up to 257 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 54.7 Mbps. These speeds allowed users to stay connected, use their favorite apps, and share moments from the concert without delays.
In areas with high user density, network connections can become congested, leading to slower speeds or even a complete loss of connectivity.
The Philippine Arena, known as the world’s largest indoor arena, is one of several key venues where Smart has enhanced its network. The improvements stem from Smart’s collaboration with technology partners Huawei and Ericsson, aimed at strengthening LTE and 5G coverage in high-traffic locations like concert halls and sports arenas.
Smart continues to invest in providing a reliable mobile experience for its users, ensuring smooth connectivity during major events at venues such as the Philippine Arena, Smart-Araneta Coliseum, and SM Mall of Asia Arena.
