On Monday, music streaming app Spotify announced its integration with Google Maps on both iOS and Android platforms.
Users can now enable playback controls within the Maps navigation settings to enjoy music and podcasts during active navigation, making Spotify an easily accessible and natural part of their journey. They can play, pause, or skip tracks all within the maps app. There is no need to shuffle between the two apps which.
Switching and selecting music will be seamless as well. Through a simple entry-point from the Google Maps app into Spotify, users can now able to browse through albums, playlists, and songs. There will be a banner in Spotify to help users return to their active navigation.
The integration will be rolling out to all Google Maps users over the next few days. Users need to have the latest version of Spotify as well as an updated Google Maps, which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
