Data center company STT GDC Philippines achieved an 83% rack utilization rate intending to expand its IT capacity by 600%, from 22MW to over 150MW. It also sets specific targets of 33MW by 2025 and 52MW by 2026.

Operating five data centers nationwide, STT GDC Philippines, a joint venture between Globe Telecom, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, and Ayala Corp. plans to launch two new facilities, STT Fairview and STT Cavite 2, by 2025. These additions will contribute 124MW and 6MW of IT capacity.

“The country’s (data center) capacity today is roughly around 60 megawatts,” said Carlo Malana, president and CEO of STT GDC Philippines. “So the 124-megawatt project in Fairview, which represents one of the country’s largest data centers to date, plus the six megawatts of IT capacity of STT Cavite, are going to help strategically position the Philippines as the next data center hub in Southeast Asia.”
