TCL introduced its Super-QD Mini LED (SQD-Mini LED) display technology to the Philippines. The technology combines more precise control of screen brightness with improvements in color, which TCL says should make a difference when watching in bright rooms or on larger screens.’
SQD-Mini LED combines three features. Precise Dimming controls the TV’s backlight to keep bright areas clear and dark areas darker, while reducing the glow that can appear around bright objects. Super QLED is designed to produce a wider range of colors. An Ultra Color Filter helps keep those colors distinct, particularly on large screens.
“Today’s viewers don’t watch TV only in dark rooms,” said Maxi Chen, senior product manager of Brownline, TCL Philippines. “They stream sports in bright living spaces, spend hours gaming, and increasingly choose larger screens where brightness, color consistency, and motion clarity matter even more. A premium TV, therefore, can’t be great at just one thing. It needs to deliver a consistently strong viewing experience across different environments and content types. That’s what SQD-Mini LED is designed to do.”
TCL said Omdia gave SQD-Mini LED a 10/10 score for brightness, color consistency, color gamut, and 4K motion clarity. Its X11L flagship TV also received a Gold Award for Innovative Display Technology at the Global Top Brands Awards during CES 2026.
For buyers, the practical question is whether those improvements are visible with the shows, sports, and games they watch.
