Teleperformance (TP) in the Philippines, a digital business services provider, joined the ANZCHAM International Women’s Day Forum to support women’s leadership and workplace opportunities. The event, organized by the Australian-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Philippines, focused on the theme “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”
The forum brought together leaders from government, private, and nonprofit sectors to discuss ways to promote gender equality. TP took part in a panel titled “Empowering Women Across all Sectors,” sharing its efforts to support women and people of diverse gender identities in the Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) sector.
“TP has paved the way for women through the years. We’re proud of our milestone achievement of having 57% of women in leadership and we will continue to empower women with technology and other tools as we grow,” said Toni Tompar, chair and executive vice president of TP Women.
TP Women, an internal group established in 2019, works to address challenges faced by women in the workplace. The program focuses on three key areas: increasing leadership roles, providing opportunities for marginalized women, and supporting women in local communities.
“The evolution of our inclusion and diversity programs like TP Women integrates our high-tech, high-touch, and high-standards approach. As AI solutions augment the capabilities of our people, we are enhancing their EI skills like empathy, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving,” said Jeffrey Johnson, chief people officer.
TP is part of the United Nations Global Compact and Women Empowerment Principles. It was recently recognized by the UN Women Empowerment Principles with a 1st Runner-Up Award for a gender-inclusive workplace, making it the only IT-BPM company to receive the recognition.
