Tyme Group, the major shareholder of GoTyme Bank in the Philippines, has been included in TIME’s 2025 list of the 100 Most Influential Companies in the World.
The annual list highlights businesses making a global impact through innovation and scale. Tyme Group joins companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Nubank, and TikTok, reflecting its growing presence in digital banking.
“We are grateful for this recognition,” said Coen Jonker, CEO and co-founder of Tyme Group. “At Tyme, we believe that great retail banking should be available to everyone, not just a privileged few. Our ambition is to become one of the top retail banks in every market we serve by combining intuitive technology with real-world reach.”
Tyme serves more than 17 million customers across several markets. In the Philippines, GoTyme Bank now has over 6.5 million users and recently expanded by acquiring salary lender SAVii. In South Africa, TymeBank has surpassed 11 million customers. The company has also launched merchant lending in Indonesia and plans to enter the retail banking space there. In Hong Kong, Tyme received a moneylender’s license and expects to announce a new partnership soon.
“Being named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies is a powerful affirmation of our shared vision at Tyme Group and GoTyme Bank,” said Nate Clarke, CEO of GoTyme Bank. “This recognition goes beyond innovations in banking. It speaks of our mission to unlock the potential of every individual by making banking secure, simple, and well-designed for all communities we serve.”
Tyme reached unicorn status in late 2024 after raising $250 million in a Series D round led by Latin America’s Nubank. Other backers include the Gokongwei Group, Tencent, British International Investment, and African Rainbow Capital.
