United Neon Media Group (UNMG), through its Media Display Solutions (MDS) division, unveiled “Magic at the 5th,” a visual display using the sky as its canvas. Launched on 5th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), the project merges cutting-edge projection technology with vibrant storytelling, creating a unique entertainment experience.

“Magic at the 5th is our way of giving brands a fresh platform to connect and engage,” said Benjamin Ernest Lim, deputy chief operations officer at UNMG. “Amid the sea of ads consumers encounter daily, this execution offers a standout moment.”

The immersive show took three years to develop and draws inspiration from projectors.

“We wanted to scale up the concept of a projector to create a larger-than-life execution,” said Wency Adrielyne Chavez Tan, head, MDS. “We worked closely with international and local integrators to ensure this Southeast Asian debut of sky projection is truly memorable.”

Twelve Panasonic Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors, each emitting 32,000 lumens, project vivid visuals onto a holographic mesh that absorbs light, producing crisp, colorful imagery. The display features themes celebrating Christmas, Chinese New Year, and Valentine’s Day, running from November to February.

“We aim to light up the sky with captivating stories that bring joy to everyone,” said Tan.

Plans are underway to introduce the technology to other locations, given its portability.
