VFS Global has completed its majority acquisition of CiX Citizen Experience, a Brazil‑based provider of digital and in‑person public services. The deal gives the visa and consular specialist control of almost two decades of Brazilian know‑how in handling citizen touchpoints.

“This collaboration is about scaling CiX Citizen Experience, delivering even more intuitive, efficient, and accessible government services,” said Sergio Rodrigues, CEO of CiX Citizen Services. “Our goal is to simplify citizens’ lives with a combination of physical and digital solutions that also bring agility, and savings for governments worldwide.”

VFS Global plans to roll out CiX’s platform across Latin America first, then in Asia, Africa, and Europe. The firm believes the service model, online portals linked to centers, fits governments that want quicker processing without cutting face‑to‑face help.

“VFS Global operates in 158 countries, serves 69 client governments and has a workforce of nearly 13,000 people from 153 nationalities,” said Zubin Karkaria, founder and CEO, VFS Global. “Access to all of this and our technological capabilities, will provide the launchpad for CiX Citizen Experience in its next phase of growth to become a global powerhouse.”

Since 2008, CiX has run more than 250 service centers in states such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, and Ceará, handling over 150 million citizen visits. Its track record includes issuing 30 million IDs and 20 million driver’s licenses, numbers VFS Global now aims to replicate in new markets.
