VinFast offers free EV charging in PH until 2029

Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) brand VinFast will provide free charging for electric vehicle (EV) owners in the Philippines, India, and Indonesia through March 31, 2029, as it pushes adoption of EVs across key Asian markets.

The policy covers all VinFast EV owners, including existing customers and new buyers, as well as those using vehicles for ride-hailing and transport services such as drivers on the Green SM platform.

Under the program, customers can charge their vehicles at no cost using the charging network developed and operated by V-Green. The initiative effectively reduces fuel costs to zero for up to three years, a key selling point for consumers considering a switch from gasoline-powered vehicles.

“Extending this policy for another three years is the next step in our strategy to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles,” said Duong Thi Thu Trang, deputy CEO of Global Sales, VinFast. “VinFast believes that when operating costs are optimized to nearly zero, consumers will have greater confidence and motivation to switch to green mobility, while also contributing to the greening of transportation systems in these countries.”

The company said its charging network continues to expand across markets where it operates, helping address infrastructure concerns that often slow EV adoption.

VinFast is also rolling out additional programs to attract buyers, including a battery subscription model to reduce upfront costs, a resale value guarantee, flexible payment options, and extended warranty coverage.

VinFast’s extended free charging offer adds another incentive for buyers looking to cut long-term transport costs.
