VinFast marked its first full year in the Philippines in 2025 with multiple initiatives to make electric vehicle (EV) ownership easier for consumers. The company focused on expanding dealerships, aftersales services, charging infrastructure, and financing programs simultaneously.
“We are still in the early stages of setting up operations in the Philippines,” said Antonio Zara, CEO of VinFast Southeast Asia. “Right now, we’re building the organization, the dealer network, and the ecosystem. Our focus is translating that ecosystem into tangible benefits for Filipino consumers.”
VinFast introduced nearly its entire vehicle lineup to the country. Smaller models like the VF 3 and VF 5 are designed for city driving and short trips, while the VF 6 and VF 7 offer space and comfort for families and professionals. The VF 9, the flagship model, provides the brand’s full range of features.
Service access was a concern for new EV buyers. To address this, VinFast partnered with existing service chains, including Motech, JIGA, Goodyear Philippines, Tire King, Power Tread, and Marcjan Cavite. These workshops were accredited to handle maintenance, warranty repairs, diagnostics, and software updates. The company now has plans for more than 100 authorized service locations nationwide.
Ownership risk was also addressed through the Residual Value Guarantee program, launched this year. The policy guarantees up to 90% of a vehicle’s original value after six months, followed by a fixed depreciation schedule over the next three years.
“With a residual value guarantee of up to 90% of the vehicle’s list price, VinFast aims to make EV ownership more accessible and reassuring for Filipino consumers,” Zara said.
VinFast’s public presence grew further with Green GSM, an all-electric taxi fleet launched in June. Operating in Metro Manila, the fleet uses VinFast vehicles for commercial service, giving commuters their first experience with EVs.
“The Philippines marks a strategic chapter in our Go Green Global journey,” said Nguyễn Văn Thanh, Global CEO of GSM. “Our true goal is to ignite a real transformation, shifting from traditional mobility to an electric future that is cleaner, smarter, and more socially responsible.”
Charging infrastructure expanded alongside fleet deployment. VinFast offers a free charging program at its dedicated stations until May 1, 2027. The network is run by V-GREEN, founded by Vietnamese billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, who also founded VinFast and Green GSM.
By mid-2025, VinFast Philippines joined the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI), giving the company a voice in the country’s automotive industry.
“This milestone marks a significant step forward in our commitment to shaping the future of mobility in the Philippines,” Zara said.
VinFast and Green GSM also provided financial and on-ground support following the Cebu earthquake in October, reinforcing their long-term presence in the country.
By the end of 2025, VinFast had vehicles on the road, growing service coverage, expanding charging infrastructure, and programs aimed at reducing ownership risks. Media coverage has shifted from initial skepticism to evaluations of the company’s execution, product improvements, and ecosystem development, with CleanTechnica describing VinFast’s facilities as evolving “from symbols of ambition into proof of capability.”
The company’s approach in the Philippines highlights a coordinated effort to address common barriers for first-time EV buyers through vehicles, services, charging, and financing programs.
