Warner Bros. has released the first teaser for the Max Original drama series, “Dune: Prophecy,” set to debut this fall. The six-episode series is rooted in the rich universe of Dune, created by the renowned author Frank Herbert, and takes place 10,000 years before Paul Atreides’ rise to power.

“Dune: Prophecy” centers on two Harkonnen sisters as they battle formidable forces threatening humanity’s future and lay the foundation for the legendary Bene Gesserit sect. The series draws inspiration from the novel “Sisterhood of Dune” by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.

The ensemble cast features Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, and Mark Strong, among others. Alison Schapker serves as showrunner and executive producer, with Diane Ademu-John co-developing the series and also serving as executive producer. Anna Foerster directed multiple episodes, including the premiere.

Other executive producers include Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, John Cameron, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, and Jon Spaihts. Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, and Kim Herbert represent the Frank Herbert estate as executive producers, with Kevin J. Anderson as co-producer.

“Dune: Prophecy” is a co-production between Max and Legendary Television. Legendary also produces the Dune film franchise, which has received critical acclaim and numerous awards, including six Academy Awards for the first installment.

Fans can revisit the Dune universe on HBO GO, available through various subscription plans and platforms such as Android TV, Apple TV, and more.
