Xiaomi recently hosted a masterclass titled “Story in Sight: A Masterclass in Mobile Visual Storytelling,” following the launch of its Xiaomi 13T Series smartphones.
The Xiaomi Masterclass aimed to empower students from San Beda University, media members, and the Xiaomi community on mobile photography. Led by journalist Atom Araullo and photographer Jonathan Hodder, the session provided insights into visual storytelling based on their experiences.
“We want to show our appreciation to the talented students who brought their passion for photography and visual storytelling to our Xiaomi Masterclass series,” said Tomi Adrias, head of marketing, Xiaomi Philippines. “The beauty of the Xiaomi 13T is that it allows even the most casual photographers to take stunning shots of everyday moments. Hodder focused on creating impactful images that evoke emotions, stressing the authenticity of capturing truth.
Both speakers offered tips on using the Xiaomi 13T’s features for photography, highlighting its 50MP rear camera, Mediatek Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset, and long-lasting battery, enabling smooth and detailed shots.
The masterclass was part of a series showcasing young photographers’ talents using the Xiaomi 13T. It began with a photowalk in Intramuros, challenging select students to capture the area’s scenic moments and tell meaningful stories through their photography. The participants explored historic locations, including Baluarte de Dilao, Plaza de Roma, Plaza Moriones, Fort Santiago, and San Agustin Church.
The series will culminate in an exhibit featuring the students’ photographs from San Beda University, aligning with Xiaomi’s aim to inspire and support emerging creatives in capturing and narrating stories through smartphone photography.
