Technology company Xiaomi Philippines, together with the nonprofit organization World Vision, participated in this year’s Brigada Eskwela, as part of its efforts to support the education sector. The initiative saw the donation of Xiaomi smart devices and the voluntary efforts of Xiaomi employees and fans to refurbish classrooms in a public school in Batangas province.

On July 13, the school inaugurated of its “Xiaomi-Powered Room,” which now features cutting-edge Xiaomi technology designed to enrich the learning environment for students. The donated items include Xiaomi TV A Pro units, smart cameras, standing fans, and vacuum cleaners, as well as essential school supplies, backpacks, and classroom chairs.

“At Xiaomi, it has always been our mission to provide innovations for everyone,” said Tomi Adrias, head of Marketing, Xiaomi Philippines. “This initiative allows our local employees to engage with the community and help build a better and safer space for kids to learn.”

In addition, Xiaomi and World Vision representatives volunteered their time and skills to prepare the school for the new academic year. They engaged in various activities, including room renovations, wall painting, ceiling and door repairs, and cleaning up the schoolyard. This marks the first instance of Xiaomi sending volunteers for Brigada Eskwela, having previously focused on donating supplies.

“We are extremely grateful to Xiaomi Philippines for the help they have extended to our school,” said Marilou Solis, head teacher. “Through the devices and electronics they have donated, our schoolchildren’s learning needs were addressed, allowing them to have better experiences in class.”
