Epson Philippines Corp., the local branch of the global technology company, has strengthened its sustainability efforts through its Corporate Waste Collection Program. Launched in partnership with Envirotech Waste Recycling Inc., the initiative has repurposed 213 kilograms of recyclable materials as of June 2024.
The program, which began in October 2023 in Davao, involves select dealers of corporate printers collecting empty ink cartridges, bottles, and boxes. Envirotech then converts these materials into school chairs and tables, tiles, pallets, bricks, pots and planters, lamps, garbage bins, and more.
“At Epson, we are committed to promoting sustainability across the value chain and implementing a circular economy where possible,” said Masako Kusama, president and director of Epson Philippines. “This program demonstrates what can be done to reduce waste and our overall environmental footprint.”
In its first six months, the program collected 106 kilograms of recyclable materials. By June 2024, this amount more than doubled, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of Epson’s partner dealers. This growth underscores the company’s dedication to sustainable operations alongside its stakeholders and partners.
Building on this success, Epson plans to expand the program to Manila and Cebu later this year, engaging more dealers and B2B channel partners in the collective effort toward sustainability.
