ZigZag Philippines launches managed SOC service to boost cybersecurity in BPO

ZigZag Philippines, a global talent solutions provider, has officially launched its Managed Security Operations Center (SOC) Services, aimed at helping the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry improve protection against cyber threats.

The move follows a six-month cybersecurity training initiative in partnership with Canadian firm Sterling Information Technologies Inc., and the rollout of Xcitium’s Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) system across ZigZag’s operations.

Founded in 1993, Sterling provides cybersecurity consulting, SOC setup, threat intelligence, and virtual CISO services. Its approach to long-term partnerships and operational transparency is in line with ZigZag’s values, the company said.

“The outsourcing sector handles some of the world’s most sensitive data, yet most providers still rely on outdated security models,” said Chris Adebahr, CEO of ZigZag Global. “Our SOC isn’t just a service, it’s a security backbone for the BPO industry, built on battle-tested technology and next-gen talent trained by Sterling.”

ZigZag’s new service includes 24/7 threat monitoring by certified analysts, integration with Xcitium EDR using ZeroDwell Containment technology, and tools to defend against state-sponsored cyberattacks, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.

“We’ve embedded cybersecurity into the DNA of our teams and workforce,” said Allen Adolfo, head of Information Technology at ZigZag Philippines. “From Sterling’s strategic training to the deployment of Xcitium’s cutting-edge EDR, this launch sets a new benchmark in how BPOs can proactively protect clients, staff, and operations from the world’s most aggressive cyber threats.”

The company, which operates as the Philippine hub of Singapore-based ZigZag Global, supports businesses in North America, Europe, and Australia. Its Workforce+Security framework includes cybersecurity practices certified by Sterling.

During testing, ZigZag reported a 94% improvement in threat containment times compared to traditional antivirus tools, with more than 400 critical threats resolved in simulations and no security incidents reported since full deployment.

“ZigZag’s investment in cybersecurity is both visionary and practical,” said Neil Cesario, CISO of Sterling. “They didn’t just buy tools, they build expertise. Their team is now a regional force in threat mitigation, and this SOC launch proves that BPOs can lead, not lag, in cybersecurity innovation.”

ZigZag is also offering free 14-day SOC trials, risk assessments, and training sessions for clients and staff. These efforts come amid a reported 217% rise in cyberattacks targeting Philippine BPOs, based on the ASEAN Cyber Threat Report 2025.
