The 30th Critics Choice Awards, which recognizes achievements in film and television, will stream live in the Philippines on Lionsgate Play on Feb. 8. Comedian Chelsea Handler will return as host, bringing her signature humor to the event.

Originally set for Jan. 13, the awards show was delayed due to wildfires in Los Angeles and nearby areas. Despite the postponement, the event will still take place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

“The Critics Choice Awards celebrate outstanding work in entertainment, and we are excited to bring this experience to audiences in the Philippines,” said Amit Dhanuka, EVP for Asia at Lionsgate Play.

This year’s television nominees include FX’s Shōgun, which leads with six nominations, including Best Drama Series and acting nods for Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai. Other top contenders include “Abbott Elementary,” “The Diplomat,” and “What We Do in the Shadows,” each earning multiple nominations.

For film, “Wicked” and “Conclave” are frontrunners with 11 nominations each, including Best Picture and Best Director. “Dune: Part Two” follows closely with ten nominations, while “The Brutalist” and “Emilia Pérez” are also strong contenders. Ralph Fiennes, Cynthia Erivo, and Ariana Grande are among those nominated for their performances.

Handler, who is hosting for the third consecutive year, is expected to bring energy to the ceremony.

“Hosting this event is always a thrill, and I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone,” said Handler.

Lionsgate Play subscribers can watch the awards live at 7 a.m. PHT.
