Accenture, the global professional services company, is expanding its generative AI (artificial intelligence) initiatives with the establishment of studios in nine countries across the Asia Pacific (APAC) and Latin America.

These Accenture studios, located in Australia, Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, and Singapore, aim to meet the rising client demand for generative AI technology. By connecting clients with data and AI experts, along with ecosystem partners and strategic investments, the studios facilitate rapid experimentation, co-creation, and scaling of generative AI solutions. Accenture’s responsible AI framework serves as the foundation for these endeavors.

“Clients today are ready to move beyond proof of concepts and into production to tackle more complex business problems across their value chain,” said Leo Framil, CEO of Accenture Growth Markets.” They also recognize that generative AI introduces new, unique risks that need consideration and mitigation.”

According to a recent Accenture survey, 77% of the C-suite in APAC plan to increase AI-related spending in 2024, while 84% in Latin America have similar intentions.

“Harnessing the true potential of generative AI lies in going deeper, and building a strong data strategy, anchored in a digital core including a modern cloud and ERP infrastructure, and mature data and AI capabilities,” said Vivek Luthra, Data and AI lead for Accenture Growth Markets.

These studios, operational from January 2024, will specialize in various industries such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, public sector, manufacturing, renewable energy, chemicals, and mining. However, Argentina and Mexico are set to join the network later in the year. The initiative is part of Accenture’s $3 billion investment in data and AI, complemented by the recent launch of specialized services to assist clients in developing large language models tailored to their specific business needs.
