Acer has expanded its Predator gaming lineup with the Predator Atlas 8 (PA08-I51), a handheld gaming device that brings PC gaming into a portable format. Running on Windows 11, the device is designed for gamers who want to play PC titles without carrying a laptop or sitting at a desktop.
The Predator Atlas 8 uses Intel Arc G-Series processors and graphics technology that Acer said can deliver smoother gameplay, better visuals, and longer battery life. It also comes with Xbox Game Pass support, allowing users to access hundreds of PC games right out of the box.
“With the Predator Atlas 8, we are combining the Predator design philosophy with the power of the new Intel Arc G-Series processors to blur the lines between gaming PC and handheld performance,” said Jerry Kao, chief operating officer at Acer. “From the Predator AeroBlade cooling system to PredatorSense to the adaptive trigger controls, every element of this handheld is curated to give gamers maximum control over their own experiences, wherever they choose to play.”
Intel said the partnership aims to provide desktop-like gaming performance in a portable device.
“With Intel Arc G-Series processors and Acer’s Predator Atlas 8, we deliver smooth, high-fidelity gameplay with exceptional battery life in a form factor you can take anywhere,” said Jim Johnson, senior vice president and general manager, Client Computing Group at Intel.
To support longer gaming sessions, the Predator Atlas 8 comes with an 80Wh battery and power-saving features that automatically balance performance and battery consumption. Acer also equipped the device with a dual-fan cooling system to help prevent overheating during extended gameplay.
The handheld features an 8-inch touchscreen display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother motion and Gorilla Glass Victus protection for added durability. It also includes dual speakers, AI-powered noise reduction for voice chat, and Windows 11 with Xbox Mode for easier access to games and settings.
Other features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, and expandable storage through a microSD card slot. Gamers can also customize controls and monitor system performance through Acer’s PredatorSense software.
