AF Payments Inc (AFPI), the proprietor of the beep card brand utilized on Metro Manila’s Light Rail Transit, wants to caution the public regarding a deceptive online promotion promising “12-month free subway rides using beep cards.”

The scam is circulating on the “Manila Metro” Facebook page.

AFPI firmly denies any involvement in this misleading, fraudulent promotional scheme.

“AF Payments has not authorized the selling of any “12-month free subway rides card” or any similar promotion,” said JJ Moreno, CEO of AF Payments Inc. “We urge beep card users and commuters to prioritize safety by being vigilant and refraining from clicking on or subscribing to any suspicious links that could potentially compromise your personal and financial data.”

AFPI encourages the purchase of beep cards from its official outlets, including LRT1, LRT2, and MRT3 stations, convenience stores, and online through official Shopee and Lazada platforms.

“We appreciate the public’s ongoing support and commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all beep card users,” added Moreno.
