The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) launched the First Gen-EDC Innovation Lab on Nov. 26, 2024, a facility designed to prepare students with essential digital skills and hands-on experience in advanced technologies.
“This partnership strengthens our commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators,” said Dr. Jikyeong Kang, president and Dean of AIM. “The lab will give students the tools to adapt to the challenges of an innovation-driven world.”
The lab, created in partnership with Energy Development Corp. (EDC), a renewable energy company under First Gen, features tools for augmented and virtual reality, advanced 3D printing, and collaborative workspaces. It serves as a hub for creativity, experimentation, and teamwork.
“We envision the First Gen-EDC Innovation Lab as a space where AIM, First Gen, and EDC collaborate to solve pressing challenges,” said Erwin Avante, SVP and CFO of EDC. “Together, we can create lasting change for a regenerative and decarbonized future.”
The First Gen-EDC Innovation Lab embodies AIM’s forward-thinking approach, equipping students to navigate an increasingly digital world while fostering sustainable and innovative practices.
“The First Gen-EDC Innovation Lab will be a space to explore new ideas, test their limits, and develop innovative solutions,” said Prof. Rico Camus, director, the Academic Program of AIM’s Master in Innovation and Business program. “We are excited to see its impact on our students and the broader community.”
