Alipay+, a cross-border mobile payment solution developed by Ant International, now connects 35 international payment partners with over 90 million merchants in 66 markets. This development comes ahead of the busy year-end travel season, bringing enhanced convenience to travelers and businesses.
“Through innovation and partnerships with merchants and tourism organizations, we aim to help businesses leverage the growth in tourism while enhancing the personalized travel experience for travelers,” said Douglas Feagin, president of Ant International.
Alipay+ also launched an in-app marketing platform, A+ Rewards, available on apps such as GCash, TrueMoney, Kakao Pay, and Touch ‘n Go eWallet. The platform enables merchants to engage directly with customers through digital lifestyle services.
The Philippines benefits from Alipay+’s reach at over 140,000 merchants, including the Mall of Asia.
In Japan, Alipay+ added over 3 million merchants, including izakayas, guesthouses, and anime merchandise shops. Travelers can also access rewards at major attractions like Tokyo SkyTree, and key shopping destinations.
South Korea sees expanded acceptance at Myeongdong Night Market, Nami Island, and Aewol Café Street, along with public transport options like buses and taxis. Travelers can enjoy exclusive promotions at ZeroPay merchants and attractions such as Everland Theme Park.
In Singapore, Alipay+ is now accepted at Mandai Wildlife Reserve and iconic food spots like Lau Pa Sat, alongside expanded F&B options.
In Malaysia, the solution now supports payments at KLIA Express Rail Link and Pavilion KL.
Additional efforts include QR partnerships in Cambodia and Nepal, expanding convenience to millions of small businesses.
Travelers are increasingly seeking localized experiences, with significant spending increases at food establishments, attractions, and transportation services. Alipay+ aims to meet these needs while strengthening its ecosystem of global partnerships.
