ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has brought its 2026 Strix G and Strix SCAR gaming laptops to the Philippines, rolling out updated models designed for gamers who want higher performance, faster screens, and better cooling in a thinner, more upgrade-friendly design.
ASUS said the new lineup combines upgraded ROG Nebula Display technology, improved ROG Intelligent Cooling, expanded high-speed connectivity, and next-generation processors and graphics chips to handle modern games and demanding workloads.
The launch comes as demand grows in the Philippines for high-performance gaming laptops, driven by competitive gaming, streaming, and content creation.
2026 ROG Strix G
The 2026 ROG Strix G16 and Strix G18 are high-performance and the more accessible gaming laptops in the lineup. Both models feature 2.5K ROG Nebula Displays with a 300Hz refresh rate, designed to make fast-paced games look smoother and more responsive.
Inside, both laptops are powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 290HX Plus paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU. This setup is designed to deliver high frame rates in modern AAA games while also supporting streaming and multitasking.
Cooling has also been upgraded with ROG Intelligent Cooling, including vapor chamber designs, ROG Tri-Fan Technology, and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal. ASUS ROG said these improvements can reduce internal temperatures by up to 15°C, helping maintain performance during long gaming sessions.
2026 ROG Strix SCAR 18
The ROG Strix SCAR 18 features an 18-inch 4K Mini LED display with a 240Hz refresh rate and more than 2,000 dimming zones. ASUS ROG said the panel delivers higher contrast, up to 1,600 nits peak brightness, and full 100% DCI-P3 color coverage for more vivid visuals.
The display also supports ROG Nebula ELMB technology, which improves motion clarity, making fast movement in games easier to track.
Performance is driven by up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 290HX Plus, with support for DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation for higher frame rates in supported games.
To handle this level of power, the SCAR 18 has a redesigned cooling system. It increases total system power to 320W in Manual Mode, uses a thicker vapor chamber, and introduces larger Liquid Crystal Polymer fans that boost airflow by 91%.
ASUS ROG said these changes reduce internal temperatures by up to 15°C, while a redesigned heatsink also lowers SSD temperatures by up to 12°C, helping maintain stability during extended gaming sessions.
