Canva links Brand Kit to ChatGPT for on-brand AI designs

Visual communications platform Canva has linked its Brand Kit tools into ChatGPT, allowing users to generate designs that automatically follow company branding guidelines.

The update connects Canva’s design platform with artificial intelligence (AI) assistants, addressing a common issue where AI-generated visuals use generic layouts, fonts, or colors that do not match a company’s brand. The integration enables users to create branded visual materials directly within AI conversations.

The collaboration also extends to Anthropic’s Claude, expanding Canva’s presence across AI tools used in workplace tasks such as creating pitch decks, social media content, and posters.

According to Canva, the integration positions its design technology as part of AI-driven productivity tools. The company said it is frequently listed among the top websites receiving referrals from AI assistants, based on data from Similarweb.

“The soul of a brand is visual identity, yet it has been the missing puzzle piece in how AI creates,” said Anwar Haneef, GM and head of ecosystem at Canva. “Today, we’re bridging that gap by bringing our design expertise to the daily tools used by millions. Whether you are in ChatGPT or Claude, Canva acts as the connective tissue that quickly turns a text conversation into beautiful brand-aligned visuals. This marks a significant leap in how LLMs and design models can bring creativity and productivity closer than ever.”

Users who have set up a Brand Kit in Canva can access several features through the integration. These include brand-native creation, where AI generates designs using pre-set brand elements such as colors, fonts, layouts, and logos. A guided presentation builder helps users structure content before converting it into branded slides. A live design preview allows users to edit visuals directly within the AI interface.

The Canva AI connector is now available to ChatGPT users through account linking on Canva’s website.
