Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a fiber broadband provider, has partnered with Central Philippine University (CPU) in Iloilo to improve digital learning by providing reliable fiber broadband and advanced technology solutions.
“As a key province in our digital development strategy, Iloilo plays a crucial role in our mission to provide reliable, high-speed fiber connectivity and innovative technology solutions,” said Maria Asuncion Canen, assistant vice president and head of Enterprise VisMin at Converge. “By equipping universities with the necessary digital infrastructure, we ensure they remain leaders in shaping the future of education in a rapidly advancing landscape.”
The partnership strengthens Converge’s presence in Iloilo and supports CPU’s goal to provide modern tools that help students and faculty grow in a digital environment. With high-speed internet, CPU can adopt technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) in its academic programs.
Using technology to empower students
“This initiative will support our ongoing efforts to provide our students with an education that integrates the best of technology and Christian values, empowering them to become leaders and innovators,” said Dr. Ernest Howard Dagohoy, president of Central Philippine University.
Founded in 1905, CPU is known in the Visayas region for its programs in engineering, business, health sciences, and education. The university focuses on academic growth and faith-based values, aiming to prepare students for professional and personal success.
With stronger internet infrastructure, CPU is improving its operations and building a more interactive and efficient learning environment.
