Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a fiber broadband provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with US-based Super Micro Computer Inc. to build advanced, AI-driven data centers in the Philippines.
This partnership aims to establish three new facilities featuring Supermicro’s Total IT Rack-scale solutions and liquid cooling technology. Supermicro is a global technology company that delivers first-to-market innovation for enterprise, cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), Metaverse, and 5G telco/edge IT Infrastructure.
SuperMicro is a Rack-Scale Total IT Solutions provider that designs and builds an environmentally-friendly and energy-saving portfolio of servers, storage systems, switches, and software, along with global support services.
“Aside from being energy-saving with its liquid cooling technology, Supermicro’s servers provide exceptional AI computing capabilities and intensive deep learning tasks that will allow us to support and deploy many AI applications,” said Dennis Anthony Uy, CEO and co-founder, Converge.
Supermicro, known for its innovative IT infrastructure solutions, will provide cutting-edge technology, including advanced Nvidia GPUs and energy-efficient liquid cooling systems. These technologies are expected to significantly reduce the power consumption of the data centers by up to 40%.
AI-ready servers
The MOU outlines plans for deploying AI-ready servers capable of managing extensive AI and machine learning workloads. Converge’s use of of Supermicro’s liquid cooling solutions is a strategic move to lower overall data center costs and minimize environmental impact.
Uy announced earlier that the company plans to start constructing this year three data centers, namely in Pampanga, Laguna, and Caloocan. Through the collaboration with Super Micro, all three data centers will be constructed according to Supermicro’s future-ready design and input. The same MOU governs the deployment of AI-driven servers in these data centers to support generative AI applications.
As both companies move forward with this venture, they anticipate that these new data centers will not only enhance Converge’s technological capabilities but also contribute to the broader growth of AI and smart technologies in the region.
