Dataiku has introduced Headless, a capability that allows developers to use (artificial intelligence) AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex to build data and AI projects that other team members can inspect, review, and use.
Dataiku, the Platform for AI Success, unveiled the capability at Succeed, its annual flagship conference. Headless connects coding tools to Dataiku Cobuild, an interface that accepts instructions in everyday language to create or change projects within Dataiku.
“Developers aren’t going to stop working in Claude Code or Codex, and we don’t think they should have to,” said Jed Dougherty, SVP of AI & Platform at Dataiku. “What they need is a way to turn that speed into something the rest of the business can actually see, review, and run in production. That’s what Dataiku Headless does — it meets technical teams in the tools they already trust, and hands back a Dataiku project instead of a script only they can read.”
Developers can ask a coding agent to find relevant information in Dataiku and pass building tasks to Cobuild. The resulting projects can include datasets, steps for processing data, models, dashboards, and AI agents. These appear in a visual workflow that the team can examine.
Headless also supports moving existing work into Dataiku. A coding agent can analyze an Excel workbook or an Alteryx workflow, then instruct Cobuild to rebuild it as a Dataiku project. The company said agents can repeat this process across hundreds or thousands of workflows, reducing manual migration work.
For administrators, Headless can help find failed jobs across projects, investigate problems, and address them by changing project or administrative settings.
Dataiku Headless is available as a plugin on the Claude Code and Codex marketplaces. It is also compatible with Cursor, Snowflake CoCo, GitHub Copilot, AWS Kiro, and other AI coding tools.
