The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has partnered with Converge ICT Solutions Inc. for the 2023 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW) in Iloilo City. This collaboration ensures that the event, hosting over 10,000 participants on Nov. 22-26, will be accessible across multiple venues, thanks to Converge’s connectivity support.
The NSTW, spread across four locations in Iloilo City, signifies the first time the DOST brings this national celebration to the region. It presents a platform for Ilonggos to experience the latest advancements by Filipino scientists, innovators, and engineers.

Under the theme “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” the focus lies on fostering a sustainable blue economy. The event highlights research-based solutions addressing environmental conservation, marine protection, and their impact on various sectors nationwide.

Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. emphasizes the effort to make the event accessible through live streaming on official social media and websites, acknowledging Converge ICT Solutions Inc. for providing reliable internet connectivity to three out of four event sites.
This collaboration stands as the latest in a series of partnerships between Converge and DOST, leveraging Converge’s presence in Region 6 to ensure visitors at NSTW benefit from reliable connectivity. Solidum considers this partnership a milestone in promoting science, technology, and innovation.
Converge’s involvement in supporting education, especially during the pandemic, includes providing fiber connectivity to schools and universities for e-learning. Their partnership with Pisay, an agency under DOST, highlights their commitment to nurturing STEM capabilities among students.
The 2023 NSTW in Iloilo City will showcase over 100 exhibits, 40 forums, career talks, and technology launches. The shift in schedule from July to November aims to increase participation from educational institutions, aligning with their academic calendars.
