EdgePoint Infrastructure (EdgePoint), a telecommunications infrastructure company based in the ASEAN, has initiated the Connectivity for Communities program, a regional corporate responsibility endeavor focused on providing connectivity access to students in underserved areas.

Edgepoint’s program aims to improve equitable connectivity access and ensure targeted impact, EdgePoint has collaborated with local organizations familiar with grassroots needs in each country. These partnerships facilitate tailored initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity and fostering digital literacy.

“We want to make sure that the children in these communities get every chance they have to harness their potential,” said Suresh Sidhu, CEO and founder of EdgePoint Infrastructure. “The first step is to ensure they have quality, reliable connectivity but that alone is not enough.”

Sidhu emphasized that through strategic partnerships with social organizations, they will achieve their goals.

In the Philippines, EdgePoint has teamed up with Habitat for Humanity, an organization providing housing solutions for vulnerable populations. Together, they are establishing digital education hubs at Southville 88 National High School and Teresa National High School, providing seamless internet connection and devices.

To date, Connectivity for Communities has facilitated connectivity for six schools, benefiting over 5,000 students. The program aims to support an additional 10 schools in 2024.
