Eplayment, a fintech company, sees a vast opportunity in creating a financial ecosystem tailored specifically for content creators. Founded just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, the company recognized the potential of esports and gaming as a thriving content niche.

Karlos Naidas, president and CEO of Eplayment, clarifies that content creators are not limited to social media influencers but also include gamers who engage in livestreaming to generate income.

Without a background in business management or entrepreneurship, managing their revenues can become a significant challenge for these creators.

“Content aggregators serve as pivotal players in the creator economy by enhancing discoverability, driving traffic and engagement, and offering monetization opportunities for the content they produce,” said Naidas.

He also noted that content aggregators can greatly simplify the process of reaching the broader market by providing a centralized platform where diverse creator and audience interests are accommodated.

Eplayment’s Pixel platform was developed to provide this centralized location, allowing content creators to easily manage not only their income but also their content, helping them attract more brand partnerships and expand their audience reach.

One of the challenges faced by content creators is the difficulty in reaching their target audience and the risk of having their ad content disabled or “demonetized.” Some platforms allow users to disable ads, which can negatively impact the creators’ income streams.

“With Pixel, tips and donations go directly to the creator with minimal hassle, allowing them to take full ownership of their income,” Naidas said.

Paid content

Pixel is designed to help creators unlock the full potential of their content, offering opportunities to streamline content from other platforms, maximize monetization with Pixel-exclusive content, facilitate seamless payouts, and engage with like-minded communities — all through one comprehensive tool. It provides a robust suite of tools to enhance how content creators interact with their audience and monetize their talents.

Naidas also shared that Pixel is expanding to include other forms of paid content, such as exclusive photos, Q&A sessions, podcasts, and text content like blog posts and short stories.

“The platform is also an excellent place for creators to promote their branded merchandise, offering a diverse set of income opportunities for members,” he explained.

Eplayment believes there is still much to explore in creating new opportunities for content creation, distribution, and monetization alongside technological advancements. As the demand for media consumption evolves, the forms and functions of content also change, meaning creators have yet to discover new trends to capitalize on.

With the growing number of creators from various backgrounds, Eplayment aims to attract 40,000 users on Pixel, including fans, creators, and general users by 2025.

“We are also looking to expand our reach to Filipinos overseas who identify as content creators,” Naidas said.
