Epson Southeast Asia (SEA) has released its FY2023 Sustainability Report, highlighting the company’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility. Aligned with Epson Global’s Environmental Vision 2050, Epson SEA is working toward becoming carbon negative and reducing the use of non-renewable resources.

Key initiatives include phasing out plastic bottles in corporate offices and launching waste collection programs in the Philippines and Malaysia. The report also notes the company’s enhanced employee engagement, through improved hiring practices, whistleblowing channels, and training opportunities.

Epson SEA’s sustainability efforts extend to collaborating with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Earth Hour to promote energy-saving measures. The company also received the BCA Green Mark Gold certification for its Singapore office, showing its commitment to greener building practices.

In the Philippines, Epson launched several community-focused projects. These include a corporate waste collection program in Davao City, turning business waste into useful items like school furniture, and an Adopt-a-School initiative, providing much-needed technology to schools in Metro Manila. The Food Shed Project, in partnership with WWF, supports local farming in Tarlac, supplying communities with food and livelihoods.

For the first time, Epson SEA disclosed data following Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, setting the stage for future improvements.

According to Tan May Lin, Epson SEA’s Sustainability Task Force Leader, “Transparency in sustainability reporting is crucial for building trust and accountability.” The report reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to co-create a sustainable future.
