Delivery platform foodpanda Philippines allocated more than ₱62 million in rider incentives from March to May 2026 as companies in the gig economy face growing pressure from rising fuel prices and daily operating costs.

The company said the incentives were distributed through its Ka-panda Motorcycle Quest program, which gave delivery riders additional payouts after completing daily delivery targets in Metro Manila and provincial areas.

Unlike regular performance programs that often require attendance or acceptance-rate thresholds, the add-on quests only required riders to complete a set number of deliveries, allowing more participants to qualify while continuing normal operations.

foodpanda said around 95% of its active riders participated in and completed the quests during the rollout period.

“Since rolling out these add-on incentive quests in March, we’ve seen how these initiatives can help support our riders’ day-to-day operations while providing more flexible earning opportunities on the platform,” said Ron Sanders, lead of Rider Experience at foodpanda Philippines.

The incentives come as delivery riders continue to deal with higher fuel expenses and increasing daily costs while demand for app-based delivery services remains competitive.

Ka-panda delivery partner Hervie Agustin said the additional payouts helped cover gasoline and household expenses.

The company also highlighted its Double-Tipping campaign during Labor Day, where customers generated more than ₱1.2 million in in-app tips for riders. foodpanda matched the amount peso-for-peso, bringing total rider payouts from the campaign to ₱2.4 million.

The initiatives are part of foodpanda’s Panda-Malasakit Project, which includes programs aimed at supporting riders, customers, and merchant partners on the platform.
