Globe has achieved the ISO 22301:2019 certification for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS), reaffirming its readiness to address crises and maintain operations. The certification is valid until 202.
“This achievement reflects Globe’s readiness to face challenges,” said Carlo Puno, chief financial officer, treasurer, and chief risk officer at Globe. “Our teams and processes ensure that customers continue to receive vital products and services, regardless of the situation.”
The certification follows ISO 22301 guidelines, which provide a framework for creating, monitoring, and improving BCMS. Globe’s strategy emphasizes protecting employees, safeguarding customer data, and ensuring infrastructure reliability.
Given the Philippines’ vulnerability to natural disasters, Globe’s initiatives include retrofitting towers according to national standards, building transport facility redundancies, and improving backup power systems. These measures aim to enhance network durability and minimize disruptions.
Network coverage
In compliance with the Free Mobile Disaster Alerts Act, Globe uses its Cell Broadcast Systems to send targeted SMS alerts, keeping communities informed and prepared for emergencies.
For post-disaster recovery, Globe deploys solutions like Network-in-a-Box, Cell Site on Wheels, and Tower on Wheels. These systems provide temporary network coverage and support services such as free calls and charging in disaster-hit areas.
“This certification represents our commitment to continuous improvement and resilience, ensuring Globe remains a dependable partner during crises,” said Puno.
Globe has held this certification since 2012. With this renewed certification, the company reaffirms its role in safeguarding its operations and serving communities effectively in challenging circumstances.
