Home Credit Philippines (HCPH), a consumer financing company, is expecting a significant increase in laptop sales during the back-to-school season, projecting up to 1,200 units sold daily.

This surge is driven by the ongoing demand for digital learning tools, particularly laptops, which are essential for students and professionals engaged in online education.

Last year, Home Credit sold nearly 450 laptops daily during the peak academic season in September. The company recorded P5.3 billion in laptop sales in 2023, up from P4.7 billion in 2022, posting a 12.5% growth. The trend is continuing this year, with the sales boost anticipated even earlier due to the academic calendar’s shift.

“We’ve seen a notable increase in sales from July through September. The peak in September highlights our strategic approach to leveraging seasonal demand,” said Sheila Paul, chief marketing officer, HCPH.

To support this trend, HCPH has launched the “Sulit-Skwela” campaign, offering 0% interest deals on gadgets until Sept. 30, 2024. This includes laptops, smartphones, and tablets to meet the academic needs of students.

With flexible installment plans ranging from six to 18 months, customers can easily manage their purchases. The offers are available in over 15,000 partner stores across 75 provinces, enabling families to equip students with the necessary tools for success in the digital learning era.
