Whizkey Technology Services Inc. is entering the Philippine managed IT services market as businesses grapple with IT talent shortages, rising cybersecurity risks, and increasingly complex technology environments.

Whizkey Technology, founded by the owners of Global Sapphire Filipinas Inc. (GSI), aims to provide outsourced management of an organization’s entire IT infrastructure, allowing businesses to maintain their systems without building large in-house IT teams.

GSI is an IT systems integrator with more than 20 years of experience delivering technology projects for some of the Philippines’ largest companies. Its work has included data center modernization, virtualization, multi-site networking, security remediation, and software solutions.

Whizkey Technology said experience from those projects exposed a common problem after new technology was deployed: many organizations lacked the people and expertise needed to operate and maintain it.

“Many businesses today have invested in new technology but do not always have enough people or specialized skills to manage those systems effectively,” said Mary Ann Palad, president and CEO of Whizkey Technology Services Inc. “Based on our experience, 50% of our current customers face a shortage of manpower, skills, and expertise needed to run their IT environments. In some cases, IT administrators are also responsible for managing as many as 10 different IT tools, ultimately leading to quality issues.”

The company also estimates that 70% of businesses put off investing in cybersecurity tools despite becoming more dependent on digital systems and facing more cyber threats.

Rather than managing individual products, Whizkey offers ongoing management of an organization’s IT environment as a single service. This includes system monitoring, software patching, governance, capacity planning, and incident preparedness. Customers can choose between 24/7 monitoring for critical systems or support during regular business hours.

“The strength of Whizkey lies in the diversity and depth of our expertise,” Palad said. “The founding team brings together seasoned systems integrators, cloud and virtualization architects, data engineers, database administrators, and cybersecurity leaders.”

She noted how the mix of experience is particularly significant for businesses that need access to specialized expertise but do not have the resources to maintain those skills in-house.

“Together, we created a managed services operating model designed around customer success, with clearly defined service level agreements, transparent reporting, and flexible support options,” she said.

The company is also banking on its local experience, saying it understands Philippine business practices, regulatory requirements, and the need for responsive on-site support. It combines that local knowledge with automation, standardized processes, security controls, and technology partnerships.

“Our goal is straightforward, we want to help businesses keep their IT systems reliable and secure, while giving them access to the expertise they need without having to build a complicated IT operations team from scratch,” Palad said.
