Technology company Huawei has launched its new smartwatch, the Watch D2, in the Philippines, offering advanced health monitoring features, including 24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM). This is the first time Huawei has included ABPM in its smartwatch lineup.

Citing publicly available statistics, Huawei said hypertension, a major health concern globally, affects 37% of Filipinos. Many people are unaware of their condition, and only a small percentage manage it effectively. The Watch D2’s ABPM feature helps users track their blood pressure regularly, providing data that could reveal fluctuations and improve understanding of their cardiovascular health.

The lightweight design of the watch ensures that users can comfortably wear it throughout the day. It can automatically schedule blood pressure checks every 30 minutes or allow users to set their own intervals between 15 and 60 minutes. This flexibility lets users monitor their blood pressure during various activities, from sitting at a desk to sleeping.

Besides blood pressure tracking, the Huawei Watch D2 also includes heart rate monitoring and smart sleep tracking. With its TruSense System, it provides quick and accurate health insights. The watch can generate a health report in just 90 seconds, helping users stay on top of their wellness.

Although the Watch D2 offers comprehensive health monitoring, it’s important to note that it is not a substitute for medical diagnoses. Huawei’s device aims to complement traditional healthcare by providing users with accessible tools to monitor their well-being.
