Ride-hailing platform inDrive has started using artificial intelligence (AI) across its operations in the Philippines, hoping to make onboarding faster, rides safer, and customer support more responsive.

inDrive said AI tools are now part of its driver approval process, which has become quicker with the help of document verification systems. These tools help confirm the authenticity of uploaded files and applications, reducing the chances of fraud. inDrive is currently available in cities such as Metro Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, and Cebu.

“We’re using AI not just to improve speed and service, but to make every trip more secure, for both passengers and drivers,” said Sofia Guinto, head of Business Development at inDrive Philippines.

AI behind the scenes

Passengers also benefit from AI through a more personalized app interface. The system learns user habits and preferences to simplify the booking process. AI also helps sort customer support requests, pushing urgent issues to the front of the queue. However, human interaction remains part of the system.

“AI should serve people, not replace them,” said Roman Atachiants, head of AI and Data Architecture at inDrive. “We’re not just creating better software, we’re building a smarter, people-driven company that’s ready for the future.”

Within inDrive, AI tools now support internal teams by helping locate files, speed up decision-making, and improve collaboration. The company has also begun testing AI tools that detect suspicious behavior and validate documents in real time to improve safety and transparency.
