Online job platform Jobstreet by SEEK, SM Supermalls, and the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) have launched a nationwide campaign called Trabaho Para sa Bayan: J.O.B.S (Job Opportunities Building Skills), which aims to generate quality jobs for Filipinos and address the job skills mismatch.
“Jobstreet by SEEK has always been enthusiastic about these collaborations so long as they benefit our Filipino candidates and hirers,” said Dannah Majarocon, managing director, Philippines, Jobstreet by SEEK.
The collaboration will involve a series of on-ground job fairs at SM Malls nationwide, starting with the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia. Subsequent job fairs are scheduled for SM City San Jose Del Monte on May 16, SM City San Pedro Laguna on May 23, and SM City General Santos on May 30. More locations will be announced soon.
Daily online job fairs will be available on Jobstreet by SEEK’s platform. Candidates can check available jobs at this site.
The campaign was officially launched with a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia, on May 9. The event featured key figures such as Dannah Majarocon, Jobstreet by SEEK Managing Director; Deborah P. Sy, SM Foundation, Inc. Executive Director and Trustee; Teresita Sy-Coson, SM Investments Corporation Vice-Chair Person; Jose Ma. “Joey” A. Concepcion III, PSAC Lead for Jobs and Go Negosyo Founder; Hon. Bienvenido Laguesma, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary; and Hon. Frederick Go, Special Assistant to the President for Investments and Economic Affairs (SAPIEA) Secretary.
The campaign focuses on key industries such as Information Technology-Business Process Outsourcing (IT-BPO), healthcare, tourism, manufacturing, and construction. It aims to provide employment opportunities and support the economic landscape of the Philippines.
Hirers in need of candidates can participate in the hybrid career fairs by reaching out to PSAC, Jobstreet by SEEK, or SM Supermalls. The campaign also offers upskilling resources through Trabaho Para sa Bayan: J.O.B.S’ Career Hub on Jobstreet by SEEK’s microsite, including career tips, expert advice, and free resources like resume templates.
