LG Electronics announced that its 2025 OLED TVs have received the “True Visual Experience with Indoor Lighting” certification from TÜV Rheinland, a German testing and certification group.

“This certification highlights the distinctive capabilities of LG OLED TVs, setting them apart in the global OLED TV market,” said Jung Jae-chul, head of MS R&D Lab at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “We are dedicated to advancing OLED technology to create unparalleled viewing experiences through our premium TVs in any lighting environment.”

TÜV Rheinland’s tests rated LG’s OLED TVs “Perfect” in five key areas: blackness, vividness, perceptual contrast length, gradation, and ambient contrast modulation. The TVs were evaluated under lighting similar to that of a typical daytime living room, or 500 lux.

The results showed that LG’s OLED TVs can display accurate colors and depth even in well-lit settings.

Research from Omdia shows that LG maintained a market share of around 52 percent in global OLED TV shipments in the first quarter of 2025. LG also became the first brand to sell more than 10 million OLED TVs in Europe as of April 2025.

Aside from the TÜV Rheinland’s certification, LG OLED displays have received recognition from other groups. UL Solutions verified them for “Perfect Black” and “Perfect Color,” while Intertek confirmed 100 percent color fidelity and volume. These results continue to support LG’s focus on color accuracy and contrast performance in its OLED products.
