LG Electronics (LG) continues to receive accolades for its innovative product designs, securing 13 awards at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2023. These awards were announced at the International Design Conference held in New York.

“The success at this year’s IDEA is the result of the harmonious blend of customer-centric technology and aesthetics,” said Hwang Sung-gyul, the head of the Design Management Center at LG Electronics. “We remain committed to elevating our products by incorporating innovative customer experiences that go beyond the traditional boundaries of product design, constantly engaging and empathizing with our customers.”

One of the highlights of LG’s success at IDEA 2023 was the LG PuriCare AeroTower, an air purifier that doubles as a side table and mood lamp. This innovative product received a Bronze Award at the conference.

The LG PuriCare AeroTower boasts personalized performance, versatile design options, and a compact form factor, making it a seamless fit for any home interior, especially smaller spaces. LG PuriCare AeroTower has now received recognition from three of the world’s most prestigious industrial design award programs: IDEA, the Red Dot Award, and the iF Design Award.

Another standout product recognized at IDEA 2023 is the LG OLED Flex, known as model LX3. This groundbreaking TV features the world’s first bendable 42-inch OLED screen.

The LX3, which debuted internationally at IFA the previous year, introduces a new dimension of screen customizability. With the simple push of a button, its self-lit display can transition from a flat screen to a beautifully curved one.

IDEA, organized annually by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), stands as one of the foremost design award programs globally. It acknowledges remarkable accomplishments in the field of industrial design while taking into account various factors such as design strategy, digital interaction, environmental impact, and social significance when selecting its award recipients.
